In the past 2016, the GDP of Turkmenistan has grown by 6.2 percent. In the industrial sector, this figure increased by 1.2 percent, in construction – by 4.4 percent, in transport and communications sector – by 10.5 percent, in trade - by 14.3 percent, in agriculture – by 11.6 percent and in services – by 10 percent. During the reporting period, the volume of retail trade increased by 16.9 percent compared to last year. The prices for consumer goods and tariffs for the provision of services to the population have remained within the set limits. Wages in large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 9.2 percent compared to 2015. Revenue part of the State budget amounted to 102 percent in 2016, while expenditures – to 86.5 percent, and more than 80 percent of the budget has been used to finance the social sphere.
