On October 8, 2024, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Having warmly greeted each other, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the friendly country noted with satisfaction that the fraternal Turkmen-Turkish relations are currently being enriched with new content. In this regard, the interlocutors exchanged views on upcoming events.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan especially emphasized that Türkiye is watching with great interest the celebrations taking place in our country and abroad on the occasion of the anniversary of the outstanding master of words, and wished the international forum in honor of the great poet Makhtumkuli Fragi, which will soon be held in Ashgabat, a successful one.

Taking the opportunity, the head of the friendly country expressed warm words of greeting and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Expressing gratitude for the wishes for the successful holding of the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan emphasized that Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a worthy contribution to the study and transmission to future generations of the creative heritage of the classic poet of Turkmen literature Makhtumkuli Fragi.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized with satisfaction that the installation of the monument to Makhtumkuli in the park located in one of the most beautiful corners of the capital of the friendly country - Ankara, has become a significant event that evokes pride.

In this regard, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan reported that, taking into account the merits of the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in this direction, as well as his great personal contribution to strengthening friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples, the President of Turkmenistan awards the head of the fraternal country with the jubilee medal "Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna".

Sincerely congratulating him on receiving this award, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude to the President of Türkiye and the fraternal Turkish people for honoring our great poet and thinker and Turkmen culture in general. Taking this opportunity, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan asked on behalf of his wife Ogulgerek Berdimuhamedova to convey words of greeting and best wishes to Emina Erdogan.
