On April 28, 2025, on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova accepted credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan Hector Isidro Arenas Neira.

On behalf of the President of the country, the head of the national parliament, congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post, wished him success in his work to develop relations between the two countries.

Thanking for the kind words, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the President of Colombia to the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and wishes for well-being and prosperity to the Turkmen people.

During the conversation, the diplomat was told in detail about the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan successfully implemented under the leadership of the President of the country, about the structure of the Mejlis and its activities.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on bilateral relations, including those established within the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan assured that he would make every effort to develop interstate cooperation.
