These days, the Days of Culture of the State of Libya in Turkmenistan are taking place in the capital. On the 1st of May, an exhibition was opened at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy the Great, which presented exhibits of Arabic calligraphy, samples of Libyan costumes, books and national cuisine.

In the development of relations between Turkmenistan and Libya, special importance is attached to the cultural and humanitarian sphere. The current creative event, organised in the International Year of Peace and Trust, is an important step towards further rapprochement between the two peoples.

Representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its subordinate institutions, the general public, domestic cultural figures and masters of art, faculty and students of a number of higher educational institutions, and the media took part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Libya in our country.

The speeches emphasised the importance of this creative event in strengthening peace and friendship, enriching cultures and mutual understanding between our peoples, and expanding humanitarian contacts. The ceremony participants expressed gratitude to the leaders of the two friendly countries for the opportunity to organise the current event aimed at strengthening ties and filling them with new content.

As noted, the Turkmen and Libyan peoples are united, among other things, by the desire to expand bilateral cooperation. Scientists and cultural figures are working together to study the rich historical and cultural heritage of our peoples.

In this regard, those gathered expressed gratitude to the heads of state for the ongoing policy of peace, broad international cooperation, for the development of culture and art, and also wished the Days of Libyan Culture in Turkmenistan a successful outcome.

The opening ceremony featured cultural figures and masters of art from the friendly country. The concert program included folk music and songs, classical and pop music, and dance compositions. Musicians, singers, and dance groups were able to convey to the audience the interconnection of cultures, the warmth, and inspiration inherent in our peoples.

The performances of the artists in magnificent national costumes were met with thunderous applause from the audience and left an unforgettable impression on them.

Along with the preservation, study, and popularisation of spiritual heritage in the world, one of the important components of the development of national culture and art today is a deep understanding of the achievements of world artistic culture. The fulfillment of this mission is facilitated by broad international ties in the humanitarian sphere, an example of which is the current event.

As part of the Days of Culture of the State of Libya in Turkmenistan, a conference entitled «The Role of Turkmen Scientists in Uncovering the Cultural Development of Humanity and in Enriching the Arabic Language and Islamic Education» was also held in Ashgabat.

A cultural program has been prepared for the guests, during which they got acquainted with the sights of our white-marble capital, including the «Magtymguly Pyragy» cultural and park complex, as well as with unique exhibits of the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan.

A joint concert of artists from Turkmenistan and Libya will take place on the final day of the creative event.
