The country’s grain growers have achieved great labor victories. Thanks to their dedicated and productive work, 1 million 407 thousand tons of wheat were delivered to the state. This is clear evidence of the successful implementation of reforms in the agricultural sector under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag.
The agro-industrial complex plays an important role in the national economy, being one of the strategic directions of the country’s economic development. In this regard, great importance is attached to the development of agriculture in Turkmenistan, which has huge land resources and favorable soil and climatic conditions. This industry ensures food abundance in the country, and also promotes increasing its export potential.
At present, steps are being successfully taken in the Fatherland on a scientific basis to comprehensively develop the agricultural sector. In accordance with the priorities of the agrarian policy of the President of Turkmenistan, program work is being implemented to further strengthen the food security of our country and expand the scale of reforms in this area. As a result, due to the development of new lands and the introduction of modern technologies, wheat yields are steadily increasing.
Currently, significant investments are being made to technical equipment and modernization of agricultural facilities, construction of processing plants, mineral fertilizer plants and hydraulic structures. The measures taken in this direction facilitate the progressive development of agriculture.
As is known, in June of this year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during a working visit to the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, got acquainted with the pace of grain harvesting, gave his blessing to the grain growers of the Magtymguly Agricultural Association to begin harvesting, and also talked to the farmers, which inspired them to even more fruitful work.
In our country, special importance is attached at the state level to the creation of favorable conditions for the effective work of farmers.
In accordance with the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan, the state purchase price for wheat has been increased starting from the 2024 harvest. This has given a powerful impetus to increasing the production of selected grain, which in turn ensures the country’s food security and significantly increases the well-being of farmers.
Currently, there is a tendency to strengthen the role of the private sector in the agro-industrial complex. In order to further implement the reforms carried out in the industry, the productive use of the country’s land and water resources, as well as the widespread involvement of private producers in agriculture, they are allocated areas from the Special Land Fund for growing agricultural crops. This creates great opportunities for the effective work of representatives of the non-state sector and inspires them to new labor achievements. A clear confirmation of this is the rich harvest of wheat grown this year by private producers, who have made a worthy contribution to strengthening food abundance in the Fatherland.
As a result of the successful implementation of state programs for the formation of a modern agricultural infrastructure and the expansion of production capacity in the Fatherland, all conditions have been created for the collection, proper storage and processing of the grown wheat crop. Thanks to significant investments in agriculture, grain receiving enterprises, elevators, warehouses and mill complexes operate in all velayats. This not only facilitates the further development of the industry, but also serves as an incentive to increase food abundance in the country.
Particular importance is attached to breeding work and effective cooperation with relevant scientific institutions. In this regard, ongoing scientific researches, and ongoing professional promotion of scientists have a positive impact on the development of the agricultural sector in the new historical period. Thanks to the responsible work of agricultural scientists and specialized specialists, the conscientious work of farmers, the fertility of lands and the productivity of agricultural crops have increased, and the country’s food security has been reliably ensured.
The establishment of the Research Institute of Grain Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan can be cited as the main factor in obtaining a high grain harvest this year: the department, which is engaged in improving the specialized industry using a scientific approach, has bred new varieties of wheat “Serdar”, “Arkadag” and “Pyragy” and introduced them into crop rotation.
In order to develop the agricultural sector in accordance with modern requirements, along with the breeding of high-yielding varieties of grain, special attention is paid to the proper implementation of agro-technical measures. Strict compliance with agricultural technology standards is the main condition for obtaining a rich harvest of agricultural crops. As is known, the head of state has repeatedly emphasized this during working meetings with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of the agro-industrial complex and heads of regional administrations.
Based on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, proper control over compliance with established requirements was ensured at all stages of the production process – from the selection of seed material to the harvest of grain. At the same time, in order to successfully implement the planned plan, mineral fertilizers, watering and weed control were carried out on the arable lands in a timely manner and using powerful agricultural machinery. As a result, these agricultural activities made it possible to ensure high-quality agro-technical care of the crops.
On the occasion of the start of the grain harvesting season, educational and production seminars were held in the regions, during which a wide range of issues were discussed, in particular, concerning the organized conduct of the harvest and ensuring the coordinated operation of combines. At the same time, performances by song and music, dance and folklore groups, as well as exhibitions of agricultural products, including bread and bakery products, and specialized equipment were organized.
It should be noted that the industry workers receive comprehensive support from the state, a clear example of which is the regular purchase of high-performance equipment. In particular, the combines produced by leading companies John Deere and CLAAS, purchased with the assistance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in this year’s harvest: the equipment operated around the clock, which made it possible to collect the grown crop quickly, in full and without losses.
The efficiency of the technical arsenal involved during the mowing was supported by hundreds of mobile repair and technical teams, which provided the machines with fuel, lubricants and spare parts day and night. For the participants of the campaign, including machine operators and drivers, all conditions for work and rest were envisaged on site. The harvested crop from the fields was immediately transported to collection points, warehouses and elevators. Efficiency and thoughtfulness of actions allowed the tenants to successfully cope with the task.
Thus, the labor victory of the grain growers became another proof of the success of large-scale measures taken under the far-sighted leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state to maintain food abundance, ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people.
