On August 5, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnihanov, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in a large-scale Forum of historical significance for our country.

The high-ranking guest expressed deep gratitude to Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the hospitality shown on Turkmen soil and the high level of organization of all planned international events, emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to meet with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and discuss important areas of bilateral cooperation.

The Russian Federation is one of Turkmenistan’s strategic partners, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized, continuing that mutually beneficial relations are developing both with all of Russia and with its regions.

R.Minnihanov highly appreciated the improvement of the Avaza National Tourist Zone and the conditions created here for holding international events. He also said that the UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is being held in an off-site format in Turkmenistan for the first time, and once again noted the exemplary level of organization of the events planned within the framework of the Forum.

As the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan emphasized, cooperation has been established with the Republic of Tatarstan of the RF in the fuel and energy, trade and economic, agricultural and cultural and humanitarian spheres. The pace of development of bilateral relations fully meets modern requirements.

During the fruitful meeting, it was noted that there are enormous opportunities for further comprehensive bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and trust, which is aimed at the long-term perspective.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and R. Minnikhanov expressed confidence that the established relations will continue to develop for the benefit of the two countries.
