On August 6, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister of Nepal Sharma Oli, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
Having warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, the head of state thanked him for accepting the invitation to take part in the international Conference aimed at solving the current problems of the LLDCs.
The Prime Minister of Nepal, expressing gratitude for the hospitality and invitation, noted the importance of the Forum in establishing effective cooperation for the sake of a bright future for the peoples living in landlocked countries. As was emphasized, the decisions to be taken within the framework of the Conference will make a significant contribution to the economic development of these countries.
During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the great importance that Turkmenistan attaches to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with various countries, including Asian states. At the same time, our country's readiness to use all opportunities to strengthen political, diplomatic, trade and economic ties with Nepal was confirmed.
Particular emphasis was placed on the enormous potential that both countries have for expanding cooperation in areas such as economics, energy, agriculture, healthcare, education and scientific research.
Noting the importance of developing cultural ties between the peoples of the two states and stimulating interaction in the arts and creativity, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to support constructive initiatives to deepen cooperation with Nepal.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Sharma Oli wished each other good health, prosperity and success in their responsible state activities.
