On the 10^th of September, the mass harvest of «white gold» began in Turkmenistan. This important agricultural campaign, which began in all regions of the country, is of great importance both for the development of the industry and the national economy as a whole.

At the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system held on the 5^th of September, the President of Turkmenistan, having given his blessing to begin the cotton harvest in all velayats on the 10^th of September, wished the cotton growers and all agricultural workers great success in their work.

According to a good folk tradition, having raised a prayer to the Almighty for the well-being and prosperity of the Fatherland, the native people, following under the leadership of the head of state to new labor victories, the venerable elders with the words «Bisimilla»! gave the start to the harvest.

It should be noted that the potential of the country's agricultural sector is growing thanks to the reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and successfully continued by the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov. These transformations include the creation of modern infrastructure, the efficient use of land and water resources, as well as improving the culture of farming.

In November last year, in order to further increase cotton production in Turkmenistan, the President of the country signed a Resolution according to which the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Concern «Türkmenpagta» and the hakimliks of all velayats were instructed to ensure the production of the appropriate volumes of «white gold» in 2025.

Cotton growing is a key sector of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in the implementation of national programs for import substitution and strengthening export potential. The country's climatic conditions are ideal for growing medium-fiber and fine-fiber varieties of cotton.

Thanks to modern technologies and an innovative approach to production, natural cotton fiber is becoming a valuable raw material for the domestic textile industry, whose products are in high demand on the world market.

In accordance with the priorities of the economic policy of the President of Turkmenistan, a course has been taken to introduce digital technologies into agriculture. Along with this, much attention is paid to scientific selection, the creation of new zoned varieties of cotton, distinguished by early maturity and high productivity.

Significant financial resources are allocated for irrigation and melioration of agricultural lands, renewal of the technical park of the agro-industrial complex. For these purposes, the state regularly purchases agricultural machinery from leading global manufacturers.

In the current season of harvesting «white gold», modern combines will be used, and for its transportation - trucks, tractors and tractor trailers.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of the cotton harvesting conveyor, in accordance with the instructions of the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov, round-the-clock technical and service maintenance of the equipment in use has been organised, appropriate conditions have been created for productive work and proper rest for machine operators, drivers and hand pickers.

The first caravans of cars and tractors with trailers, loaded to the brim with «white gold» and decorated with state flags, carpets and banners, arrived at the reception points and cotton ginning enterprises of the velayats.

As part of the current celebrations, exhibitions of agricultural machinery, products of the agro-processing and textile industries were launched. Artists, musicians and singers, dance and folklore groups from the regions, who performed with concert programs, increased the festive atmosphere. The best cotton growers, who grew a good harvest, were presented with valuable gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
