The sports school of Bayramaly city hosted the taekwondo championship of Turkmenistan (ITF version) and gathered over 150 participants. The host of the championship took the lead in the total team score by winning 17 gold medals. Sportsmen competed for disciplines of bouts and tul (complex excises). In the junior group of Mary the high pedestal of honour was taken by D.Myradov, B.Akyev, O.Mammedov, M.Batyrov, Sh.Bekmyradova, G.Amanmyradova, Sh.Silapova, M.Muhammedova as well as brothers Hasanovs and Durdyevs. Another gold medal was secured by junior taekwondo practitioners from the Murgap valley in team tul exercises. Among sportsmen of black belt, representatives of the team of Mary velayat won four first places –D.Shadurdyev, A.Rejepov, A.Goshaniyazov, A.Agayeva. Sportsmen from Ashgabat also made high results (М.Batyrov, М.Kurbanov, О.Charyev, G.Durdyev and М.Agayeva) and taekwondo practitioners from Balkan province (М.Myradov, N.Orazov, D.Nurmammedov, А.Klychyev and M.Nurmammedov), who shared second line in the total team scoring. Dashoghuz sportsmen also secured two victories – H.Kurbanov and U.Resulov. The structure of the national team, which should prepare for the world championship to be held in September in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic republic of Korea, will be formed. Male and female sportsmen under 39 as well as adult sportsmen of the given martial arts from 40 and older will compete for medals of world championship.
