During his working visit to Ahal Velayat President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the construction site of the plant for production of gasoline from natural gas in Ovadandepe. Unique technological gas-chemical complex is being by State Concern “Turkmengaz” and the consortium Company of “Kawasaki Heavy Industries” (Japan) and “Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanaýi ve Ticaret A.Ş.” (Turkey). Groundbreaking for the project has taken place in August, 2014. The plant will be able to annually process 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of “blue fuel” and to produce 600 thousand tons of A-92 gasoline, corresponding to Euro-5 requirements. In a day, the company will produce 1800 tons of gasoline. It is also envisaged to produce 12 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas per year. The total cost of this investment project is nearly US $ 1 billion 700 million. The enterprise is planned for opening in 2018. Gas supplied to the factory through the “East-West” pipeline will be cleared from hydrogen sulfide compounds and a catalyst will be used to separate it into hydrogen (H), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane (CH4). In the special reactors, these compounds will be processed into methanol. Methanol through a catalyst is then processed into gasoline and associated products - liquid gas and diesel fuel. The enterprise will also include the production of the necessary components for the process, such as water, air, oxygen, nitrogen, steam. Having inquired about the technological features of processing of raw materials and the production of A-92gasoline, the President instructed the drafting of the second stage of the complex to provide opportunities for the production of A-95 gasoline. The Head of State instructed to speed up the construction of a railway line to transport the company's products, noting that this is the most cost-effective form of delivery, including for export purposes. The country, with its huge reserves of “blue fuel”, is taking steps to increase the production of hydrocarbons, expand the geography of exports, diversifying the industry through the construction of chemical facilities in order to take its rightful place in the market of gas and chemical products. This construction project, with the participation of foreign investors, is a testament to the interest of foreign business in enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan. The priorities of processing of the “blue fuel” include the production of polyethylene and polypropylene based on propane, ethane and other materials, production of gasoline and diesel fuel based on methane. Natural gas is also used to produce lubricants, cleaning products and gas oil, synthetic fibers for the textile industry.
