While actively pursuing a foreign policy based on the principles of peace, positive neutrality, and broad international cooperation, Turkmenistan is also developing effective relations within reputable international organisations. In this regard, significant importance is attached to developing strategic cooperation with the UN. The country's extensive experience allows it to take these multifaceted relations to a qualitatively new level.
This year, the International Year of Peace and Trust, the coincidence of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN is of great significance both for our country and for the global community. Turkmenistan's neutral status, recognised three times by relevant UN General Assembly resolutions, is an important part of our country's foreign policy, based on the principles of peace, security, and cooperation, and serves as the foundation for developing constructive relations with other states.
