Today, a grand opening ceremony was held for the Mary velayat Infectious Diseases Hospital with a capacity of 300 beds in the “Täze güýç” gengeshlik of Mary etrap. The facility was inaugurated as a gift in celebration of the widely observed professional day of healthcare and medical industry workers in our Homeland.

The event was attended by deputies of the Mejlis, leaders and workers of local self-government bodies and healthcare institutions, members of the velayat, city, and etrap halk maslahaty, esteemed elders and silver-haired mothers, as well as student youth.

From early morning, a festive atmosphere reigned at the new building. The celebration was further enlivened by musical performances and dance routines by cultural and artistic figures of the velayat.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Hakim of Mary velayat read out a congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed to the workers of the country's healthcare and medical industry.

As highlighted in the message of the head of state, in recent years Turkmenistan has adopted the "National Program for the Development of Physiology in Turkmenistan for 2024–2028," the "National Strategy for Medical Health and Rehabilitation Activities in Turkmenistan for 2024–2028," and the "National Immunoprophylaxis Program of Turkmenistan for 2024–2028." These documents have significantly enhanced the operations of the healthcare system. Achievements in adopting advanced methods and innovative practices in diagnosis, therapy and disease prevention have elevated the national healthcare system to a global level. A stable situation regarding both infectious and non-infectious diseases is maintained in the independent Homeland.

The address of the head of state was received with great enthusiasm.

In speeches delivered at the event, it was emphasized that under the "Saglyk" State Program, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and now successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, fundamental reforms are being carried out in the healthcare system.

The operation of healthcare institutions in the country, equipped with cutting-edge technologies and staffed by highly qualified professionals, ensures the population receives high-quality medical services. Modern medical facilities are being regularly built and put into operation throughout the Homeland, equipped with high-tech equipment that meets international standards, and existing infrastructure is being reconstructed and modernized.

The new hospital was constructed as part of the implementation of the National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Transformation of the Socio-Living Conditions of the Population in Villages, Settlements, Etrap Cities, and Etrap Centers. The comfortable conditions and modern equipment installed here will make a significant contribution to raising healthcare, diagnostics, and the prevention of infectious diseases to a new level.

Following the ceremony, participants toured the facilities created for patients and medical staff.

The construction of this modern medical center, situated on an area of approximately 9 hectares, was carried out by the private enterprise “Hil Merkezi.” The complex includes 17 different departments, such as: reception, consultative-diagnostic, radiology, physiotherapy, bacteriology, first, second, and third pulmonary departments, surgery, osteoarticular, pediatrics, anesthesiology, intensive care, as well as laboratories, dispensary, prophylactic facilities, and administrative and technical service buildings.

Each department is provided with the latest medical equipment from leading manufacturers in the USA, UK, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and Japan. This technology enables high-level early diagnosis of infectious diseases, effective development of preventive and therapeutic strategies, and comprehensive patient monitoring.

Patient admission is carried out through the reception and consultative-diagnostic departments. Their data is entered into a digital information system, and biological materials are sent to the laboratory via pneumo-vacuum capsules. The consultative-diagnostic department includes registration, and offices for internal medicine, neurology, endocrinology, dentistry, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, pulmonology, urology, surgery, pediatrics, ophthalmology, and outpatient phthisiology.

In terms of equipment, an example is the hyperbaric chamber from the leading U.S. company “Perry Baromedical Corporation”, installed in the physiotherapy department and intended for carrying out physiotherapeutic procedures. This device enriches tissues with oxygen and improves overall blood circulation during therapy. Regular physiotherapy helps restore tissue activity and accelerate wound healing. The “Sport-TeC GmbH” company’s rehabilitation equipment contributes significantly to muscle recovery and mobility, improving balance, relieving spasms, strengthening muscles, regulating breathing, and restoring normal body function after injuries and surgeries.

Thoracoscopic equipment manufactured by the German company "Aesculap" has been installed in the operating room of the surgical department. It is designed for accurate diagnosis of diseases of the chest cavity and pleural space, as well as for performing surgical treatment. The department is equipped with an important material base for the effective use of the most modern surgical methods for treating diseases of the lungs and the musculoskeletal system. Overall, all necessary conditions have been created here for performing reconstructive surgeries, even in cases of complex fractures.

The hospital's utility and technical building houses a canteen, laundry, a garage for vehicles, a transformer, a heating system, equipment complexes for the neutralization and disposal of medical waste, centralized production and distribution of medical gases, hypochlorite production, and a vacuum system for the centralized production and distribution of oxygen.

During the ceremony, participants were once again clearly convinced, by the example of this modern hospital, that the large-scale reforms initiated by Hero-Arkadag to elevate the national healthcare system to a world-class level are being successfully implemented under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

Those gathered expressed their gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their tireless efforts to protect public health — the nation's most valuable asset.

It should be noted that the achievements of our country in the field of healthcare, in the prevention and protection of the population from infectious diseases, in the implementation of mass vaccinations, and in the fight against the use of substances harmful to health have received international recognition and have been certified in different years by the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and other reputable international organizations.

The hospital's grounds are landscaped and greened. It is worth noting that the location chosen for the construction of the hospital was not accidental. Low humidity and a warm climate create favorable conditions for the treatment of infectious diseases. Clean air is a valuable natural resource for the recovery of people suffering from respiratory diseases.

During the opening ceremony, keys to new vehicles were presented to the Mary velayat Infectious Disease Hospital as a gift from the President of Turkmenistan. These vehicles are equipped to provide emergency medical assistance to patients and to conduct diagnostics in a mobile format. The hospital staff assured that they would make every effort to effectively use the resources provided and to deliver high-quality medical services to the population.

As part of today’s significant event, commemorative gifts were presented on behalf of the head of state to the builders who had distinguished themselves.
