The President of Turkmenistan received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India

On October 22, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan, Bandaru Wilsonbabu, who presented his credentials to the Head of state.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to meet, the diplomat noted that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador conveyed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu, and the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi.

Thanking the Ambassador for his kind words, the Head of state conveyed his best wishes to the highest leadership of the friendly state. Congratulating Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu on his appointment to the high diplomatic post, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished him success in his work aimed at further expanding the multi-vector relations between the two countries.

It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral cooperation is currently developing successfully in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, energy, transport, educational, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

As was noted, cooperation in trade-economic, and energy spheres holds a special place on the agenda of Turkmen-Indian relations. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan advocates for the intensification of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project and projects for the construction of accompanying transport corridors.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that cooperation in the cultural, educational, and scientific fields is an important segment of Turkmen-Indian relations.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Bandar Wilsonbabu again expressed his gratitude to the Head of state for the warm welcome, assuring that he will make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly ties between the two countries.
