Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian who arrived in our country on a visit to participate in the International Forum on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Having warmly greeted his Iranian counterpart, the head of the state expressed his gratitude for the accepted invitation to take part in the International Forum in honour of the International year of peace and trust, International Neutrality Day and the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and for the visit to our country and pointed out that participation of President Masoud Pezeshkian in the high level representative Forum is considered as a sign of great significance given to the policy of neutrality, realised by Turkmenistan.

Having expressed his gratitude for the rendered warm reception in the Turkmen land, the head of the friendly country underlined that the given Forum will become an important contribution to the strengthening of the doctrine of peace in regional and global dimensions and taking an opportunity, warmly congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with International Neutrality Day and the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Results of the present visit of President Masoud Pezeshkian will give a new impulse to promotion of bilateral interaction, the head of the state expressed confidence and marked that Iran is a close neighbour of our country and throughout entire history, the Turkmen and Iranian people have maintained brotherly relations. At the same time, it was underlined that the commonality of history, spiritual and cultural values serves a strong basis to development of the interstate dialogue.

As it was noted, the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the important trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan, indicators of past years clearly attest to consecutive enhancement of cooperation in this sphere.

In addition, interlocutors stated the presence of big possibilities for further expansion of cultural-humanitarian interaction, including the one in such spheres as science, education, sports and tourism.

Fruitful friendly relations established between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as mutually beneficial cooperation will be further strengthened, the head of the state underlined and confirmed readiness of the Turkmen party for consolidation of efforts in this area.

At the end of the meeting, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Masoud Pezeshkian expressed confidence that traditionally friendly Turkmen-Iranian relations will be successfully developed for prosperity of peoples of two countries.
