Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev who arrived in our country on a visit for participation in the large-scale festive events on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Having warmly greeted the Uzbek leader, the head of the state thanked him for acceptance of the invitation to the International Forum devoted to the International year of peace and trust and the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. It was underlined that participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the work of this representative Forum testifies to the support of the Uzbek party to the neutral policy of our fatherland and special attention to cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Having expressed gratitude for the shown hospitality, the head of the friendly state pointed out that organization of the given Forum in Turkmenistan confirms its adherence to the cause of consolidation of peace in regional and global dimensions as well as uniqueness of Turkmen neutrality. Taking an opportunity, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 30^th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Having thanked for kind words, the head of the state underlined that in the International year of peace and trust, the 80^th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and the 30^th anniversary of the obtaining of the permanent neutral status by our country are marked. The International forum to be held in the capital will serve as an effective platform for advancement of principles of peace making.

As was stated, the constructive Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue successfully is developed in various areas. Our countries productively co-operate and consistently support initiatives each other within the regional and international structures, in particular, the United Nations, the CIS, and OTS.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also pointed out the importance of his recent state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan as important step towards the deepening of mutual relations. The results of the visit opened new horizons for the further expansion of interstate partnership. In this connection, the head of Turkmenistan once again thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan - «Oliý Darajali Dustlik».

Throughout the meeting, concerning the theme of trade and economic cooperation, interlocutors noted that work is carried out to increase in mutual goods turnover, realise joint investment projects, and develop inter-regional relations and industrial cooperation.

At the same time, they stated a high level of the humanitarian interaction based on centuries-old friendship and common history, cultural and spiritual values.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged best regards and expressed confidence in the further successful development of good-neighbourhood interstate relations in interests of peoples of both countries.
