Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, welcomed the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the International Airport in the capital.

According to the established tradition of hospitality, the distinguished guest was presented with bread and salt, as well as flowers.

A meeting between Hero-Arkadag and the head of the brotherly state then took place at the airport.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for accepting the invitation to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and for his visit to Ashgabat. This, Hero-Arkadag said, is a sign of the high respect of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its brotherly people for the neutrality of our country and for the Turkmen people.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the head of the neighboring state noted the great significance of the upcoming International Forum in Ashgabat, which is attracting strong interest from the international community. In this regard, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that it was a great honor for him to participate in the festive events and in the representative Forum dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.

The prospects for further Turkmen–Kazakh cooperation in various areas were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are committed to expanding cooperation and to implementing the agreements reached and reflected in the signed bilateral documents.

Expressing confidence in the successful and progressive development of Turkmen–Kazakh partnership, the interlocutors exchanged best wishes. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan also wished the Ashgabat Forum fruitful work.
