Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The head of state warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation to participate in the International forum dedicated to the International year of peace and trust, International neutrality day, and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. As noted, participation of Vladimir Putin in this forum confirms his support for policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan.
Having sincerely congratulated the head of state on the successful holding of today's event, as well as on the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, the President of the Russian Federation highly praised foreign policy of our country.
As noted, policy of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan contributes to stability in the region and creates favourable conditions for the development of bilateral relations with many countries, including Russia.
Emphasising that the development of strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation remains one of foreign policy priorities of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the traditionally friendly relations between our countries are based on long-standing ties of friendship, trust, and mutual understanding.
The development of trade and economic ties occupies a special place on the agenda of Turkmen-Russian cooperation.
Furthermore, cultural and humanitarian cooperation is an important part of interstate cooperation. In this area, considerable attention is paid to partnerships in science, education, healthcare, and culture.
In this regard, the head of state confirmed readiness for further comprehensive, multifaceted cooperation of Turkmenistan with the Russian Federation and expressed confidence in the further development and strengthening of Turkmen-Russian relations for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of RF Vladimir Putin wished each other all the best.
