On December 12, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Director General of the Organization of the Islamic World for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Affairs Salim Al Malik.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality extended to Turkmenistan and the invitation to participate in the International Forum on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the guest praised the extensive work being carried out in Turkmenistan to preserve and promote national historical and cultural values.

Warmly welcoming Salim Al Malik, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that during his visit, the guest will have a good opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as discuss issues of further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Organization.

Noting that the Turkmen people have a rich history, Islamic heritage, and spiritual and cultural values, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan emphasized that our country is ready to expand cooperation with the Organization of the Islamic World on education, science, and culture in specific areas, which will serve as a bridge for bringing peoples closer together.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thanked the Director-General of the Organization of the Islamic World for Education, Science and Culture, Salim Al Malik, for his visit to our country to participate in the representative International Forum and celebratory events, wishing him success in his work.
