Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T.Atahalliyev and velayat hyakims to discuss the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the country’s regions.

The floor was given first to the Ahal Velayat Hyakim T.Nurmyradov, who reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, wheat fields in the velayat are currently being maintained in accordance with agricultural practices, including mineral fertilization.

In preparation for this year’s cotton sowing, plowing has entered the final stage. Leveling, harrowing, and soil fertilization with minerals are also continuing.

To ensure cotton producers have high-quality seed, measures are being taken to prepare seeds, repair and maintain, and properly store agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the sowing season.

At the same time, necessary steps are being taken to prepare agricultural land for planting potatoes, vegetables, and melons.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the work being done to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, organizations, enterprises, and social and cultural buildings, as well as to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supplies for the population. He also reported on the progress of construction projects scheduled for completion in the region this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of properly organizing the ongoing seasonal agricultural work and, in this regard, instructed the hyakim to ensure proper care of wheat crops and preparation for the spring planting season in accordance with agricultural schedules.

The President of Turkmenistan also ordered that the high-quality and timely construction of facilities scheduled for opening in the region this year, in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs, be closely monitored.

Then, the hyakim of Balkan velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the state of agriculture in the region.

As noted, wheat fields in the velayat are currently being tended in compliance with agricultural requirements.

Leveling and harrowing work is underway in areas allocated for cotton cultivation, as well as preparation of seeds and agricultural machinery for the spring sowing campaign.

Along with this, the velayat is taking appropriate measures to prepare areas and seeds for the potato, vegetable, and melon planting season.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the steps being taken to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings and social and cultural buildings during the winter, the uninterrupted supply of electricity, natural gas, and drinking water, and the progress of construction projects scheduled for completion in the velayat this year.

Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the key challenges facing the agricultural sector and instructed the hyakim to ensure the high-quality implementation of ongoing seasonal activities on the region’s agricultural lands.

The head of state also instructed that the quality of construction work at facilities scheduled for opening in the velayat this year be monitored.

Then, the hyakim of Dashoguz velayat D. Babayev reported on the progress of ongoing agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, plowing, leveling, and enriching the soil with mineral fertilizers continue in areas allocated for cotton sowing for this year’s harvest. Necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cotton seeds suitable for the velayat’s soil and climate conditions, as well as the agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the sowing season.

To further strengthen the country’s food security, work is underway in the region to plow and level agricultural land allocated for spring sowing of food crops and to prepare seed for these crops.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the steps being taken to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, institutions, businesses, and social and cultural buildings during the winter, the uninterrupted supply of electricity, natural gas, and drinking water to the population, and the pace of construction work on facilities scheduled for commissioning this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector in the country’s economic development, assigning the hyakim to ensure continuous oversight of seasonal agricultural activities in accordance with scientifically sound agricultural practices.

The head of state also ordered that the high-quality and timely completion of work planned in the velayat for this year, in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs, be closely monitored.

The Lebap Velayat Hyakim D. Genjiev reported on the progress of current agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, in order to achieve a bountiful wheat harvest, farmers in the region are currently applying additional mineral fertilizers to the soil and irrigating their fields.

As part of the upcoming cotton sowing season, plowing, leveling, and leaching irrigation of agricultural fields are underway. In addition, necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality seeds for cotton growers, as well as equipment and machinery for agricultural work during the sowing season.

At the same time, fields are being cultivated for spring potato and vegetable and melon planting, and seed selection continues.

A report was also presented on measures taken to ensure the smooth operation of heating systems in residential buildings and social and cultural buildings during the winter, uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supplies to the population, and the status of construction projects scheduled for completion in the region this year.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for efficient use of available resources and strict adherence to agricultural standards to achieve high agricultural yields, issuing specific instructions to the hyakim in this regard.

The head of state also ordered oversight of the quality and timely completion of construction work in the region at facilities scheduled for commissioning this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022-2028” and the National Rural Program.

Then, the hyakim of Mary velayat, D. Annaberdyyev, reported on the progress of the ongoing seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, the soil is currently being fertilized with minerals and irrigated in accordance with agricultural standards in wheat fields.

In preparation for the cotton planting season this year, work is underway to plow, level, and harrow the land, select high-quality seeds for agricultural producers, and maintain the equipment that will be used in the spring season.

In addition, the velayat is taking appropriate steps to prepare fields and seed for the upcoming planting of potatoes, vegetables, and melons.

Necessary measures are also being taken to harvest and process the sugar beet harvest grown in the region.

Furthermore, a report was given on ongoing work to ensure the reliable operation of heating systems in residential buildings and social and cultural buildings during the winter, as well as uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supplies to residents. A report was also given on the progress of construction projects scheduled to open in the velayat this year.

Summarizing the report, the President noted the need for a responsible approach to successfully achieving the planned objectives in the agricultural sector and instructed the mayor to ensure the proper implementation of ongoing seasonal activities in the region, particularly wheat care and preparation for the spring planting season.

The head of state also ordered oversight of the deadlines for construction work at facilities scheduled for commissioning in the region this year in accordance with Turkmenistan’s socio-economic development programs.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that, in addition to ensuring food abundance, the agricultural sector is currently the driving force behind the country’s industrial development. Noting the need for widespread adoption of advanced methods, modern technologies, and innovative approaches at all stages of agricultural production, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue work on the further development of this sector.

Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan again emphasized the importance of the current seasonal campaigns and, in this regard, ordered continued plowing and leveling of cotton fields in the country’s regions, leaching irrigation of land in accordance with agricultural standards in Lebap velayat, timely and full provision of high-quality seeds to cotton producers, preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for spring sowing, as well as seed for the upcoming planting of vegetable and melon crops, and field maintenance in compliance with agricultural requirements.

Furthermore, the President instructed that the sugar beet harvest in Mary velayat be strictly monitored, as well as payments between wheat and cotton producers in the regions and service agencies for the work performed.

At the same time, instructions were given to focus on the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, schools, and kindergartens in the country’s regions, as well as the uninterrupted supply of electricity, natural gas, and drinking water to the population. The need to take comprehensive measures to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of work planned for the current year in accordance with the “Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022-2028” and the National Rural Program was emphasized.

At the conclusion of the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants sound health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
