Turkmenistan is actively preparing for the upcoming on the 29th of March, elections of members of the halk maslahaty in the newly formed etraps of velayats of the country, as well as members of velayat, etrap, city halk maslahaty and Gengesh instead of prematurely retired deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

As is known, the main principle of the current socio-political action is a broad alternative basis, which is an indispensable condition for the further strengthening of the original democratic traditions in the life of Turkmen society.

In accordance with the legislation in force in the country, the election campaign continues throughout the country, during which candidates for deputies of the national Parliament, local representative authorities and local self-government, and their authorised representatives, hold meetings with the electorate.

Voters become familiar with the biographies, professional and organisational qualities, and key areas of election platforms of candidates, the essence of which is the intention to ensure the progress and prosperity of the Fatherland and increase the well-being of their people.

During a lively discussion about the future development of the country, the candidates answered numerous questions from voters, detailing the provisions of their election platforms and pledging to apply their knowledge, abilities, experience, and efforts to the implementation of the ambitious transformational programs initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, and successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

It should be noted that the right to represent their districts in the national Parliament and in local government bodies is being contested by the most worthy people, who enjoy the greatest respect and trust of their compatriots.

All registered candidates are granted equal rights and opportunities to organise meetings with voters in accordance with national electoral legislation and international law.

Preparations for the elections are widely covered in the domestic media, including special broadcasts on the rights of voters, explaining the provisions on preparations for the elections.

Along with this, operational information is published on the website of the Central commission for elections and referendums in Turkmenistan.

The current election campaign is an event of particular importance, designed to raise to a new level the civic consciousness of society in a country confidently following the path of deepening democracy, socio-political reforms, and the establishment of the principles of genuine democracy.
