President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the capital's Olympic Village, the construction of the main facilities in which has been completed, and familiarized himself with the arrangement of the main arena for the Vth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and other objects of this unique complex. At the entrance to the Olympic Village, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been welcomed by the chairman of Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, the Executive Committee on preparation for Vth Asian Games, hakim of Ashgabat, and the head of Turkish company “Polimex”, which has been entrusted with the construction of this object. The Head of State has inspected the newly built arena with stands for 45 thousand seats. Particular attention of the President of Turkmenistan during the inspection was paid to the silhouette of a horse, which is the official symbol of the Games, and which became the dominant art of the multipurpose arena. As the Head of the state has highlighted, symbols of the Asian Games should reflect the national specifics, ethnographic identity, cultural and historical features of our country, its nature and folk traditions. In this context, the President expressed the wish that the Akhal-Teke horse towering over the bowl of the Olympic stadium should be wearing the lace-amulet aladzha on the neck, and that the cup for the Olympic flame should be decorated by stylized stems of the healing herb yuzerlik in the form of a radiant crown. The decorative art of the Turkmen people widely uses different kinds of amulets, talismans, which for centuries were given particular importance, they are endowed with sacred power. Among them, “Aladzha” - an amulet of interwoven strands of contrast (white and black). Thin “Aladzha” is worn on the wrist, on the neck, sewn on clothes, more thick, wider type is attached above the entrance to the house or on the wall inside the house. Also at the entrance to their home Turkmens hung an Aladzha tied beam of healing herb yuzerlik - a powerful impact medicinal plant that grows on the territory of Turkmenistan.
