On the 3^rd of June, the country began the 2026 grain harvest campaign – a crucial stage for the agricultural sector. To mark the occasion, ceremonies were held in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary velayats, attended by heads of relevant agencies, leading industry workers, and respected elders.

As is known, at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on the 22^nd of May, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave his blessing to begin the grain harvest in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary velayats on the 3^rd of June, and in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats on the 10^th of June of this year. Noting that this year a rich wheat harvest has been grown in the regions of the country, Arkadagly Hero Serdar wished the hardworking grain growers and all the workers of the village great success in their work.

Inspired by the blessing of the head of state, the elders offered a prayer to the Almighty for a successful wheat harvest, for the well-being and prosperity of the Fatherland, and for the entire Turkmen people. With the words «Harmanyňyza bereket, çäjiňize bereket!» («May the harvest of your grain be abundant!») the aksakals mowed the first ears of wheat.

This year our grain producers have grown a rich harvest. Modern grain harvesters and high-performance transport equipment, operated by experienced machine operators, will be used in the mowing.

During this period, farmers will be provided with 24/7 support from mobile repair and maintenance teams, supplied with everything they need, including fuel, lubricants, and spare parts. The laboratories of the Main state service «Türkmenstandartlary» are also fully prepared, and their specialists, using the latest equipment, will quickly determine the quality of grain arriving from the fields.

To mark the start of the harvest, training and production seminars were held in the regions, where a wide range of issues related to the organized conduct of the harvest and ensuring the smooth operation of the grain harvest conveyor were discussed.

The development of the agro-industrial sector is a key priority of the policy pursued by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at strengthening the economic power of the Fatherland and systematically improving the well-being of the people. In this direction, large-scale measures are being taken to develop import-substituting production and increase the export potential of the agro-industrial complex by increasing the production of various agricultural products.

As part of these transformations, work is being carried out to digitalise the industry and implement the latest technologies and innovations. Large investments are being made in the construction of modern agricultural processing plants, grain elevators, milling complexes with workshops for the preparation of selected wheat seeds, and mineral fertiliser plants. Successful implementation of the regional development objectives outlined in the new version of the «National program of the President of Turkmenistan for improving the social and living conditions of the population of villages, towns, etrap cities, and etrap centres through 2028» will contribute to a further improvement in the standard of living of the rural population.

The financial and economic conditions created in the country significantly increase interest of farmers in the results of their labour. Particular attention is paid to the rational use of land, water and other natural resources, environmental protection, the development of agricultural science, seed production and selection, the introduction of advanced technologies in production and the training of highly qualified specialists. With the development of new high-yielding wheat varieties «Serdar», «Arkadag», «Pyragy», the yield is increasing, thereby ensuring a reliable food supply for the Fatherland.

To mark this important event, performances reflecting ancient agricultural traditions, as well as exhibitions of agricultural products, bakery products and modern agricultural machinery were organised near the wheat fields. Performances by musical, dance and folklore groups from the velayats also took place here.
