President of Turkmenistan Received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On June 20, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Jamshid Khodjaev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Turkmenistan for a visit to participate in the regular meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation.

Expressing gratitude to the Head of State for the warm welcome, Jamshid Khodjaev noted that Uzbekistan highly appreciates the achievements of Turkmenistan in all spheres, as well as its immense prestige in the international arena. Taking the opportunity, the guest conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

Returning best wishes to the leader of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Head of State wished the Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation of the friendly nation a successful 19th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation.

Noting with satisfaction that trade and economic ties between the two countries are developing steadily, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted several promising vectors of partnership: energy, transport, agriculture, trade, joint infrastructure and investment projects.

The role of the Intergovernmental Commission was especially emphasized in coordinating the parties' efforts across all areas of cooperation and in developing appropriate measures to achieve the set goals. As highlighted, the opening of the Turkmen-Uzbek Border Trade Zone in November of last year provided additional impetus to increasing mutual trade turnover figures.

The Head of State also emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, expressing confidence that organizing various events in both countries and regularly holding meetings between cultural and artistic figures will promote cooperation in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev reaffirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to further strengthening and expanding their strategic partnership for the benefit of both countries and their brotherly nations, exchanging mutual best wishes.
