On July 7, 2026, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to meet and for the warm hospitality extended on Turkmen soil, Mikayil Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan highly values the steadily developing interstate relations across various fields. He also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Hero-Arkadag from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The guest emphasized that each visit to Turkmenistan allows him to witness the country's rapid socio-economic development and expressed his sincere admiration for the architectural appearance of the capital city.

Thanking him for his kind remarks, the National Leader of the Turkmen people conveyed his best wishes to the President of Azerbaijan and underscored the importance of the steadily expanding cooperation between the two friendly states.

The National Leader noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as neighboring countries, continue to develop on the basis of the long-standing principles of mutual respect and are being consistently strengthened.

In this regard, it was emphasized that the high-level talks held during Hero-Arkadag's visits to Azerbaijan opened a significant new chapter in the history of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations.

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan successfully cooperate both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks, including through international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

Regular dialogue at the highest state level continues to provide fresh impetus to bilateral relations and creates favorable conditions for effective cooperation between the two countries.

In this context, Hero-Arkadag highlighted the significance of the recent state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan and, taking the opportunity, once again expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the vessel "Dostluk", presented as a gift to the Turkmen people.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation occupies an important place in the Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership. In this regard, reference was made to the successfully held Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the cities of Baku and Ganja, as well as the Days of Culture of Azerbaijan in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also emphasized that preparations are proceeding in an organized manner for the international event "Ene-tebigat" ("Mother Nature"), scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan from October 19 to November 30 of this year. The event will be jointly organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of interstate relations and exchanged wishes for good health, happiness, and continued success in their work.
