President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia of Federal Council Ilyas Umakhanov, as well as the Chairman of the Committee of Federation Council on Rules and Organization of parliamentary detail Vadim Tyulpanov. I. Umakhanov congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on his convincing victory in the successfully conducted elections last Sunday and conveyed best wishes of the Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko. As has been emphasized, deliberate choice of the Turkmen people, which had direct impact in the results of the vote, told the huge respect and high prestige of the Leader of the nation and the general support to the policy conducted by him. Having thanked for the kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov stressed the special nature of relations with Russia, which has always been and will be one of the strategic partners of Turkmenistan. Noting the high level of interstate cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan and his guests agreed that today the Turkmen-Russian relations have reached a qualitatively new stage of its development. The existing relationship of trust between two heads of states, regular exchange of visits of two countries' delegations, expansion of inter-parliamentary ties directly contributed to the establishment of productive political dialogue, complemented by intensive development of trade and economic partnership. As noted, guided by general tasks and priorities of socio-economic development, Turkmenistan and Russia have managed to create an extensive and reliable legal base of interstate relations, which directly contributes to the development of a constructive dialogue on the multilevel platform. In the framework of the meeting there was detailed exchange of views on the prospects of development of relations between the two countries in the international arena .
