President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has had a telephone talk with President of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko. The Ukrainian leader sincerely congratulated the head of Turkmenistan on his convincing victory in the presidential elections, having wished him the achievement of stated objectives for the benefit of the people of Turkmenistan. Highly appraising the Turkmen-Ukrainian dialogue, the counterparts discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, given the agreements reached and untapped potential for interaction. Having focused on the issues of Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation in the international arena, the Presidents highlighted with satisfaction the similarity of the two countries’ viewpoints on international policy issues. The head of Ukraine spoke for advancing the political dialogue, in particular within the United Nations and OSCE. The colleagues spoke in favor of expanding contacts in education, science, culture, sport, and tourism. During the telephone talk, President Pyotr Poroshenko invited the Turkmen leader to pay an official visit to Ukraine whenever it would be convenient to him. Grateful for the invitation, the head of state noted that a warm welcome always awaits the friendly country’s high-ranking officials in Turkmenistan.
