President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke of this today at the solemn inaugural ceremony at Ruhyyet Palace where he outlined the priorities and key tasks of social and economic development and foreign policy of Turkmenistan. Great emphasis will be placed on the development of communications, said the head of state, we will continue working on cosmic exploration and launch of new satellites that will improve telecommunication networks and the functioning of the national economy, and further pursue the restoration and advancement of the Great Silk Road that connected the continents in the past. Our country must make its great contribution in this area that is of crucial importance for the mankind as a whole, said the President, emphasizing that this would promote the expansion of international economic and commercial relations. Medieval Turkmen scientists availed of the predominantly sunny weather in our country and made amazing discoveries in the study of the universe, significantly contributing to the development of the world science. Therefore, to study the space, we will establish the center with the world-class observatory, said the Turkmen leader.
