After inauguration ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the head of foreign policy department of Turkmenistan held the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to our country and ambassadors of Turkmenistan abroad. The objectives set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the ministries and departments of the country including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were discussed during the meeting. Particularly, the Head of the State mentioned in his speech that our Motherland entered another phase, which he outlined as a period of steadfast development and successful realization of large reforms. Turkmenistan, relying on the status of permanent neutrality in its foreign policy activity for more than two decades, supports beneficial cooperation with all countries in the spirit of friendship and good neighbourhood. There were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Hasan Abdulla Al-Adab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of French Republic to Turkmenistan Francois Delahousse, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Takahiko Katsumata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Valentin Shevalyov among the speakers at the meeting. Speaking of the development of bilateral cooperation, the diplomats made special mention of the fundamental principles of Turkmenistan policy as a neutral state, which are the establishment of global peace and security and provision of sustainable development. It was also mentioned that Turkmenistan invariably comes for peaceful solution of all disputable issues standing for political and diplomatic solution of international conflicts. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kapuju, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Orman Nurbayev and other made an accent not only on steadfast development of bilateral trade and economic relations but also on cultural, educational and scientific relations consolidated owing to the policy of the President of Turkmenistan. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan paid special attention to the subject of international and regional energy security while speaking of realization of TAPI gas main. Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations, Permanent Representative of the UN Development Programme and Representative of the UN Population Fund to Turkmenistan Elena Panova, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat Natalya Drozd made speeches on behalf of international organizations. They highlighted main aspects of actively developing cooperation of represented international structures with independent Turkmenistan and mentioned the importance of the institution of December 12 as International Neutrality Day by the UN General Assembly. President of the Austrian – Turkmen Society Neda Berger, who monitored the elections of the President of Turkmenistan as independent international observer, also noted that the elections of the Head of the State, held on democratic and alternative basis on February 12, brightly demonstrated undisputable high authority of new formation policy of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov among Turkmen people. Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Aksoltan Atayeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China, Mongolia and Vietnam Chynar Rustemova spoke on the meeting on behalf of Turkmen diplomats. The reporters marked out such distinctive features of Turkmen neutrality as integrated and positive character, balanced combination of national interests and requirements of regional development and global realities. Generally, objective and comprehensive assessment of multidimensional influence of Turkmen neutrality on universal integration processes was given and the vision of new approaches to solution of common objectives in the view of foreign policy peace-making initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented.
