On behalf of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, and myself personally, I extend to You and through You to the Turkmen people my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the United Nations. Over the years, relations between Turkmenistan and the UN have steadily evolved. By the suggestion of the Turkmen side, UN General Assembly has adopted a number of resolutions of great importance for the entire world community. Within the framework of the United Nations initiatives of Turkmenistan, whose credibility as a reputable, responsible member of the community of nations is growing from year to year, have received a great response. I note with satisfaction that the cooperation with the UN is playing a positive role in the consolidation of statehood, reform of the national economy, which ensures sustainable development of Turkmenistan. I am confident that the achieved progress is the key to further development of Your country on the path of democracy, progress and strengthening its authority on the international arena. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express gratitude to You, Mr. President, and to acknowledge the support of the Regional Centre's activities during the ten years of our joint productive work. I am convinced that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations will continue contributing to the consolidation of peace in Central Asia.”
