President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov welcomed the President of Uzbekistan on the Square of Independence in Ashgabat. The Guard of Honour lined up on the square in honour of the distinguished guest. The State Anthems of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were performed. The leaders of the two states passed by the Guard of Honour. The cabinet ministers of Turkmenistan were introduced to the President of Uzbekistan. The members of the government delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan were presented to the President of Turkmenistan. Upon completion of the ceremony, the Guard of Honour marched through the Independence Square.  The presidential cortege accompanied by the horse escort took President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oguzkhan Presidential Palace Complex, where the top-level bilateral talks will take place.
