President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held one-on-one negotiations in Ashgabat. The talks took place in Bilateral Meeting Hall of the Oguzkhan Presidential Palace Complex after the ceremony of official photography on the background of the State Flags. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the gratitude to high-rank guest for coming to Turkmenistan with official visit. The Leader of the nation noted that this visit is important step for further consolidation and development of Turkmen – Uzbek relations, which are based on friendship and good neighbourhood ties and principles of beneficial partnership. Having thanked President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the invitation to visit Turkmenistan and generous hospitality, the Uzbek Leader highlighted high level of interstate dialog having respectful and constructive character. The Head of Uzbekistan expressed the confidence that current meeting would give new impulse to bilateral partnership, which has considerable potential. The Heads of two states discussed broad spectrum of issues related to current condition and prospects of Turkmen – Uzbek cooperation in its main directions under realization of the previous agreements, priorities of social and economic development of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and future plans. Having spoken for consolidation of cooperation in trade and economic sphere, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the importance of stimulation of fruitful humanitarian and cultural contacts. During the meeting, the Sides shared the visions on number of topical issues of regional and international politics presenting mutual interest.
