A state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar is scheduled for March 15-16. There is a solid potential and opportunities for building up mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, intensifying humanitarian contacts and traditional cultural ties aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples in every possible way. Diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar were established in November 1996. A powerful impetus to the activation of the productive partnership was given by the agreements reached following the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar in October 2010, as well as the official visit of Emir of Qatar to our country last March. Independent neutral Turkmenistan, being a full-fledged member of the world community, is invariably committed to the strategy of constructive international partnership for the sake of general well-being and progress.
