Turkmen entrepreneurs are ready to export to Qatar

The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan presented the successes and investment projects of its companies to Qatari businessmen. Within the framework of bilateral business forum held in Doha, the main directions of economic interaction were announced, including through UIET, which unites more than 16 thousand members. To date, representatives of non-state sector of Turkmenistan have successfully developed business in construction, agriculture, food and textile industry, trade and services, as well as in education and tourism. About 160,000 new jobs were created at enterprises and organizations of UIET. As noted, Turkmen entrepreneurs, along with supplying the domestic market with food products, are ready to export clean and high-quality food and other products to Qatar. In 2016 alone, more than 140 construction projects worth 2 billion US dollars were commissioned by the UIET. Today Turkmen construction companies started to work abroad; in particular, they built a kindergarten in the Republic of Moldova, and are constructing a school is for 190 places in the Astrakhan region of Russian Federation. The implemented projects include such new industrial facilities as a furniture complex, a plant for production of carpets made of polypropylene, and a modernized paper mill. In addition, work is underway to build enterprises that produce goods from basalt, iodine, etc. Speaking about the huge potential for establishing close contacts between the business structures of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar, speakers suggested that Qatar partners should take part in investing in projects in the fields of industry, chemical processing, construction, agriculture and tourism, including the opening of joint manufacturing enterprises. Qatar partners were able to get visual information about the economic potential and achievements of Turkmenistan through a video that was demonstrated at the business forum. The video presentation spoke about the development of various sectors of the Turkmen economy, and was oriented on the introduction of innovative technologies, as well as the National Tourist Zone Avaza and the white marble Turkmen capital - Ashgabat.
