The forthcoming commissioning of the first in Turkmenistan and the largest on the territory of Central Asia Garlyk Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise means the birth of a new branch of the national economy - the mining industry with the use of the most advanced scientific and technological achievements in this field. This center of mining and processing industry is formed on the right bank of the Amu Darya in the Koytendag etrap, at the Garlyksk potassium salt deposit. The development of the field, and the construction of an industrial facility on its territory for the extraction and enrichment of potassium salts, will open a new page in the development of the chemical industry in our country, which has enormous opportunities for export of this type of products. This most important strategic project is the result of many years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus, dynamically developing in the traditions of friendship, on the principles of mutually beneficial and long-term partnership. Evidence of this is the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to this friendly country in May 2016. Based on the results of successfully conducted bilateral negotiations, the interstate dialogue gained new quality and content, which found expression in the agreements reached by the parties and important documents signed. The implementation of this grandiose project will bring both sides very good economic dividends in the future. In this context, the assistance of the Belarusian side in the training of highly qualified young Turkmen specialists is of great importance. According to the data of geological research, Garlyk deposit has reserves of crude potash salts of more than two billion tons. Not less significant is the Karabil deposit, which is also expected to produce this natural raw material in the future. Potassium salts are suitable for production of potassium fertilizers and can be processed by flotation method into potassium chloride, which is in high demand in agriculture. Its application contributes to an increase in crop yields, their resistance to weather and climate conditions, diseases and pests. More than 7 million tons of ore are planned to be extracted and processed annually for the enterprise to reach its full capacity. Opening of productive layers will be carried out by two vertical shafts, the construction of which is a very complex technological process, including a complex of unique operations. The capacity of the industrial complex will not only fully meet the needs of agriculture in environmentally friendly potash fertilizers, but also will allow to annually export more than a million tons of valuable products. Today, in the world market, potash, unlike other mineral fertilizers, has the highest export potential. Hence, in the future, the new industry will bring significant foreign currency income, contributing to strengthening of the country's economic stability, the growth of the people's well-being. The chemical industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the country's economy. Its huge export potential is based on the comprehensive development of colossal natural resources, the opportunities of high-tech infrastructure being created in the industry. The priority lies in production of mineral fertilizers, the needs for which are constantly growing in our country in the context of reforming agriculture and agro-industrial complex, and ensuring food abundance, and which are highly demanded throughout the world. At the present time, the construction of the most important industrial facilities with a huge economic impact in the long term goes in accelerated pace. Among such one can name the carbamide plant erected with the participation of foreign partners in the city of Garabogaz of the Balkan velayat, with an annual capacity of 1 million 155 thousand tons of products, and a new workshop for production of 300 tons of concentrated phosphoric fertilizers per year at the Turkmenabat chemical plant.
