President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received credentials from newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan, Hossein Ali Mostafa Gunnam. Expressing gratitude for finding time for a meeting, the diplomat conveyed the head of state the best regards sent by President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as an invitation to visit Palestine. While exchanging views on the prospects of the Turkmen-Palestinian partnership, the head of state and the ambassador reaffirmed the mutual commitment of the parties to strengthening of effective cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. As was noted in this context, the first official visit of the President of Palestine to Turkmenistan, and the opening of the Embassy of this friendly country in the Turkmen capital in November last year marked significant events in the history of interstate relations. The agreements that were reached during the Ashgabat highest level negotiations, which were stipulated in the signed package of documents, laid a reliable basis for building of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation and relations in the humanitarian and cultural areas. Mutual willingness of the parties to establish a joint intergovernmental commission and to establish business contacts, as well as holding of mutual Culture Days is intended to contribute to this intention. Mr. Hossein Ali Mostafa Gannam also took an opportunity to address heartfelt congratulations to the Turkmen people on the occasion of the International Novruz Day. Saying goodbye, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and the Palestinian diplomat expressed confidence in further successful development of Turkmen-Palestinian relations, based on unchangeable mutual goodwill that are brought to a qualitatively new level.
