The ‘round-table’ meeting held in the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan brought together the specialist of ministries and departments as well as leading international agencies of the UN and EU. The meeting participants discussed the aspects of cooperation with authoritative international structures, including the UN Development Programme, the Population Fund and the European Council. One of the key areas of joint work is to level up knowledge and improve practical skills of civil servants as well as specialists of local and public authorities. At present, the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan actively implements interactive training methods. The students of the Academy have the opportunity to improve their knowledge in a wide spectrum of issues of the management and administrative activities and the art of business communication. The areas of cooperation with international structures, in particular, development of educational programmes on the legal principles of government control, planning system and monitoring of work of central and local authorities, were discussed during the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the complex training programmes given the national characteristics and international practices. It is planned to hold science and practical conferences, seminars, round-table meetings, business games, discussions, colloquiums and auto trainings with the aim to level up professional development of civil servants in the context of the social and economic, public and political development of the country. Summing up the meeting, the forum participants called for the enhancement of international exchange programmes for university professors, introduction of innovative methods and improvement of educational cycle.
