Over the January-March period of 2017, a sustainable GDP growth, as compared to the same period of 2016, increased by 6.2 percent. In the industrial sector, this figure grew up on 1.8 percent, construction – 4.4 percent, transport-communication sector – 10.8 percent, trade – 10.4 percent, agriculture – 3.4 percent, service sector – 10.8 percent. During the January-March period, in comparison with last year, the retail turnover indicator increased by 17.1 percent. Prices for consumer goods, and tariffs on rendering services for the population are steady within the prescribed limits. Compared to the similar period of 2016, the wage rate at the country’s large and medium enterprises increased by 9.1 percent. In general, output of products in industry has made up 13.8 billion manats, 53.1 percent of which are the share of private sector companies. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, the vegetable production increased by 20.9 percent. A steady livestock population increase is observed. Compared to the previous year’s similar period, the volume of cargo traffic, accomplished by all modes of transport, increased by 1 percent, including motor trucking – 9.3 percent. Over the past three months, there is a growth in the passenger traffic, which amounted to 2.3 percent. In connection with the increase in output of import-substituting products over the January-February period, compared to the corresponding period of 2016, overall import volume decreased by 5.3 percent. The State budget revenues for the first quarter of 2017 made up 100.2 percent, while the expenditures – 88.1 percent. To finance the social sphere during the January-March period there were allocated 73.3 percent of the budget. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships have been timely and fully funded.
