President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the International Sports Congress ""Asian Games 2017: International Sport Cooperation in the name of Peace and Progress"". As Vladimir Zhirinovsky noted, he sincerely admires Turkmenistan's achievements on the way of radical reforms, the key goal of which is the progressive development of the state and society, the creation of all conditions for the prosperous life of the Turkmen people. The LDPR Chairman congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the World Health Day and the success of the major sports forum held in Avaza, as well as with honorary awards that testify to the outstanding achievements of the Turkmen Leader in the development of sport and international cooperation in this field. Greeting the guest, the Head of the State also congratulated him on World Health Day, underlined that Turkmenistan is open for constructive interaction with all interested foreign partners, which is the priority direction of the foreign policy based on the principles of peacefulness and positive neutrality. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted with satisfaction the fruitful nature of the Turkmen-Russian relations. Stressing that Turkmenistan, consistently pursuing the creative policy proceeding from its permanently neutral status, is support for peace and stability in the region, the LDPR Chairman noted the significant contribution of our country to the socio-economic revival of Afghanistan, the strengthening of positive processes in the neighboring state, its integration into the System of world economic relations through involvement in major infrastructure projects. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and his guest spoke in favor of further expansion of interstate dialogue, including for stimulating mutually beneficial contacts and exchanging experience through public organizations. As it was mentioned, the cardinal socio-economic reforms and progressive democratic processes developed in our country provide favorable conditions for this. Sharing his impressions about his current stay in Turkmenistan, the Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia stressed that he was very delighted with transformations that took place here. The universal decoration of the white marble Turkmen capital became the universal Olympic village, on the arenas of which the Asiada-2017 competitions will be held and the new magnificent International Airport. The National Tourist Zone ""Avaza"" admires as well. It was noted that Turkmenistan could be proud of the achievements in the promotion and development of the physical culture and health movement and sports, the formation of sports infrastructure, the harmonious upbringing of the younger generation, strengthening of the principles of healthy lifestyles, where a vivid example is the success of measures to eradicate harmful habits, including smoking. Forward-looking policy bears fruit: Turkmen sport reaches qualitatively new frontiers; the country becomes the venue for holding prestigious international competitions. All this predetermines the confidence that the forthcoming this September Asian indoor and martial arts Games will be held at the highest level in Ashgabat.
