The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution on approving the 2017-2021 National Program on the implementation of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, as well as the Action Plan and the composition of the Intersectorial Coordinating Commission on the program implementation. Departments, khyakimliks of velayats and the capital were assigned to implement them. As noted, the program, aimed at tobacco control, is intended to ensure healthy lifestyle promotion, increase of longevity, effective measures for the transformation of Turkmenistan into the tobacco-free country till 2025. Turkmenistan established itself as a leading choice in the world on tobacco control, giving an example in it for other countries and actively developing cooperation with the World Health Organization.
