President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit, noted that the situation in Afghanistan could be settled only by peaceful political means. During the talks with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Turkmen leader emphasized that efficient political and diplomatic mechanisms with the participation of international organizations, in particular the UN and its specialized agencies, were required to solve problems in Afghanistan. According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are ready to provide any assistance to the world community to settle the situation in this country, to strengthen positive trends, observed in the country recently, to restore the economy and social sphere as well as to include Afghanistan into the system of regional and world economic relations.
