As part of the state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid flowers at the Monument to defenders of the Fatherland in Astana, paying tribute to the memory of the national heroes of Kazakhstan. On the previous day in Astana-Akord Palace, Turkmen-Kazakh high-level talks were held, which determined new incentives for further development of constructive political dialogue, expansion of trade and economic interstate relations and cultural and humanitarian ties. As has been noted at the meeting, the foundation of this bilateral partnership is in unified vision of key global issues, the traditions of good-neighborliness, mutual respect, openness and trust, and unity of spiritual values. One of such enduring values is to honor the memory of courageous defenders who defended the freedom of their native land in a fierce battle with fascism, those who died in the name of the bright future of this and future generations. In the years of the severe war, thousands of brave Turkmen warriors stood shoulder to shoulder with representatives of other fraternal peoples, fought in the battlefields, showing unprecedented courage and heroism. Among them, the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - Berdimuhamed Anneev, whose life path today serves as a model of true patriotism, nobility and loyalty to the Turkmen people.
