President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which considered drafts of several documents and discussed topical issues of state life. Information was provided on Turkmenistan's election to the UNICEF Executive Board for 2018-2020, as well as to the Commission on the Status of Women of the UN Economic and Social Council for 2018-2022 . Also, a report was given about the ongoing work on the establishment of the United Nations agency for cooperation in the field of sustainable development in Ashgabat. At the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the decree ""On handing of gifts to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the war of 1941-1945"". Information was provided on measures to improve the competitiveness of the economy and the effectiveness of state property management. In accordance with the new edition of the Law of Turkmenistan ""On Leasing"", the Cabinet of Ministers must approve the procedure for transferring state property to the lease. The development of this document is underway, which will determine the conditions for concluding and registering lease contracts and the responsibilities of the parties. The activities of the business sector in the field of infrastructure development of the National Tourist Zone Avaza have been reported. Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs proposed the construction of a total of 66 two-story cottages and five entertainment complexes. Information was provided on the preparations for the eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission for Economic Cooperation, scheduled for May 10-11 in Minsk. A report was given on the progress of seasonal agricultural work, caring for winter crops - vegetative irrigation, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers and combating weeds. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew the attention of the top managers to aspects of Turkmenistan's environmental policy, within which thousands of trees are planted annually. It is necessary to expand the planting zones, take measures for the rational use of land, water and bioresources, protect nature, pay attention to the conservation of biodiversity and natural landscapes, combat desertification, and promote environmental education, the Head of State said. The President of Turkmenistan demanded to intensify work on the development of nature reserves, and also noted the importance of planting mulberry seedlings along the banks of the Karakum River. The President of Turkmenistan instructed to set up the Scientific Center for the Study of Akhalteke horses at the Turkmen Agricultural University, voiced the idea of creating the Academy of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding, gave instructions on organizing high-level events dedicated to the Turkmen Horse. The President of Turkmenistan also demanded from the leadership of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture to ensure the high quality of construction work on all facilities under construction. At the meeting, a proposal was submitted for the construction of a factory for the production of basalt fiber and building materials in the vicinity of the village of Kiyanli. By his Order, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the list of buildings and industrial and socio-cultural facilities planned for commissioning in 2017. The list includes 586 buildings and facilities erected by regional hakimliks, departments and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. A report was also given on the work on the development of road and transport infrastructure, the improvement of Ashgabat. To date, the city has reconstructed 56.52 kilometers of roads, built 18 bridges, 32 underground and 15 aboveground crossings, which have already been commissioned. For improper performance of official duties and weakening the control of compliance with personal discipline, as well as due order in subordinate institutions and enterprises, the President of Turkmenistan pronounced a severe reprimand to the Chairman of the Service ""Türkmenhowaýollary"" D.Saburov, having signed the relevant Order.
