President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the events in Ahalteke Equestrian Complex. This morning, the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the Mejlis, ministries and departments of the country, hyakims of velayats and Ashgabat, heads of foreign embassies accredited in Turkmenistan, members of International Ahalteke Horse Association, numerous foreign guests, who arrived to participate in the events dedicated to the Turkmen Horse Day, gathered there. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the territory of ceremonially decorated complex. There were banners and placards with the symbols of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts games and performances of folk bands everywhere. There were representatives of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, public organizations, honoured elders and personnel of equestrian branch, youth, representatives of domestic and foreign press and many others on the stands. As a recognition of permanent care of the development of equestrian sphere, special attention to Turkmen horses and spreading of their world glory, on behalf of the compatriots, the Head of the State was presented with ahalteke horses as a gift. The horses from all velayats of the country were taken out in turn to the arena and the head of each region handed over the passport of the horse to the Head of the State. On behalf of military and law enforcement agencies, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was also presented with the horse, which passport was handed over to the Leader of the Nation by Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defence Ya. Berdiyev. Beautiful horse was also presented to the Head of the State on behalf of all horse breeders of the country. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, dressed in traditional horse riding dress, saddled the horse and make few rounds demonstrating the skill of horse riding. After, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in 1200 m speed race together with the group of senior jockeys. From the start, the horse of the President of Turkmenistan took leading position notably leaving behind the group. At the last turn, the Head of the State, who managed to hold the leadership during the race among experienced riders, broke away forward and finished with considerable advantage. The result is 1 minute 25 seconds.
