Ashgabat hosted Culture Days of the State of Palestine in Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Ashgabat and the Ministry of Culture of our country. The solemn ceremony took place at the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Center, which brought together representatives of the country’s relevant agency, the sphere of culture and art, public, diplomatic missions accredited to Ashgabat, mass media, teachers and students of creative universities. Among the guests were the delegation of business circles of Palestine, arrived to participate in the Turkmen-Palestinian business forum. As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan Mr. Hossein Ali Mustafa Ghannam noted in his welcoming speech, a cultural event, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Palestine, is aimed at consolidation of friendship, mutual understanding and trust-based dialogue. On its stage, the Palace of Mukams hosted a concert of the friendly country’s masters of art. The program includes song-music band’s show, presenting the stylized classical music, folk tunes and songs. In the lobby of the Palace of Mukams, it was unfolded an exhibition of decorative-applied and fine arts of Turkmenistan and Palestine. The exposition consists of folk craft works: Palestinian embroidery, pearl jewelry, olive-wood boxes, souvenirs. Turkmen art is represented by painting, carpet canvases, jewelry, samples of national clothes. Prospects of cooperation were discussed during the first half-day of reception of the creative intelligentsia representatives of Palestine in the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. In the framework of the cultural program, guests will get acquainted with the expositions of museums and sights of the Turkmen capital. During a cultural event, the “Ashgabat” Cinema Center will show films of the contemporary Palestinian cinematic art’s representatives. On May 5, the Culture Days of the State of Palestine will be completed with a joint concert of artists of the two countries in the “Turkmenistan” Cinema and Concert Center. Cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine is an important component of the partnership, developing steadily since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states in the spring of 1992. An important momentum to the cooperation development was gained in November 2016, when Ashgabat hosted negotiations of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov with President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, paying the first official visit to our country. On the same occasion, there was an opening of the diplomatic mission of Palestine in Ashgabat. During the summit, much attention was paid to development of cultural ties.
