1941 – 1945 entered the history as most tragic, hard and troubled period of the XX century, which caused irreplaceable harm to peaceful life and values of the civilization, world’s economy and culture, - the message says. During that severe time, Turkmen citizens stood up shoulder to shoulder with representatives of fraternal nations for the sake of happy life of future generations and freedom of the mankind. Our compatriots wrote glorious pages in the chronicle of the Great Victory, having displayed outstanding brave, heroism and dedication. During that fiery time, which lasted long 1418 days, thousands of Turkmen soldiers marched along the front roads and were awarded with Hero and combat orders and medals. The nobility and humanism of our people were brightly revealed during those years. All population of Turkmenistan work in the fields selflessly and tirelessly with firm believe in the future and endless love to the Motherland growing high yields and making deserving contribution to the Great Victory. Our grandmothers and mothers, our women, the keepers of peace and home harmony, turned over 7329 kg of gold and silver jewelleries demonstrating their nobleness and making deserving contribution to the Victory over the fascism. Today, after many decades, heroic history of those years find live response in our hearts filling it with the pride of our compatriots. We admire their unfading feat, - the message of the Head of the State mentions. Turkmenistan, invariably committed to the principles of peace, humanity and good will, widely and solemnly celebrates the Victory Day. We hallow the memory of national heroes, who revealed spirit fortitude and valour as well as of glorious workers, who forged the Victory in home front. According to the tradition of celebration of the Victory Day, we lay spring flowers to «Halk hakydasy» Memorial Complex in Ashgabat paying deepest tribute to unbending courage, bravery and feat of valiant sons of the Motherland. Bouquets of live flowers will be at the pedestals of the monuments and obelisk to the heroes of that terrible war in the cities and villages of the country. Various celebration events, meetings and ceremonies, honouring of the veterans, rare front workers, our dear mothers who made colossal input to the long-awaited victory, conferences, concerts, sport competitions, which enhance the formation of high moral principles of young generation, upbringing of the youth in the spirit of patriotism, humanity and diligence, are held in these days.
