On the eve of Constitution Day and poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi, a representative delegation of the creative intelligentsia of Turkmenistan arrived to the province of Gulistan of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the pilgrimage to the places of the repose of the outstanding sons of the Turkmen people - classic poets Makhtumkuli and Dovletmammet Azadi. On the first day of the trip, organized by the Ministry of Culture, pilgrims arrived to the small homeland of the great poet, to the administrative center of Makhtumkuli Etrap. There on the square of the cultural and memorial complex erected in his honor the final round of the contest among the young poets of the country on the occasion of the Day of Turkmenistan Constitution and the poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi and the awarding ceremony to the winners took place. After the ceremony the gathered participants laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the great Fragi, erected in the complex of sculptures to not less famous poets - Magrupi, Kemine, Myatadji, Zelili, Seidi. In the Museum of Makhtumkuli the members of the delegation got acquainted with the exhibits telling about the life path and creative making of the poet. Tomorrow in the province of Gulistan in Iran our compatriots will take part in the solemn ceremony at the place of the repose of classic poets, where they will offer up prayers, according to national customs and traditions. Having paid tribute to the memory to the great sons of the Turkmen people, the pilgrims will return to their homeland on the same day. Among the pilgrims there are cultural figures, scientists and teachers, representatives of the public the media and the elders.
