For January-May 2017, Turkmenistan was visited by 201 foreign delegations. During this period, 386 delegations of Turkmenistan were sent abroad. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers devoted to the results of five months of the year. 89 international documents were signed during this period and 106 conferences, meetings and other events of various levels with the participation of Turkmenistan were held in the country and abroad. Bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and foreign ministries of other countries are of a regular nature. Since the beginning of this year, 19 meetings have been held in this direction. One of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is the expansion of trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation with foreign partners. In this regard, nine meetings of the Intergovernmental Commissions, as well as a number of bilateral business forums have been held since the beginning of the year.
