The next session of the interdepartmental commission for maintenance of implementation of international obligations of our state in the field of human rights and international humanitarian right took place. Representatives of the Mejlis, several ministries and departments, law enforcement bodies, public organisations took part in the meeting at the Turkmen national institute of democracy and human rights at the President of Turkmenistan. On the agenda of the present session – issues of preparation of the draft of the « national plan of action on realisation of rights of children in Turkmenistan for 2017-2021» and «general program of Turkmenistan on development of system of justice in affairs of minors». Following traditional spiritual and moral principles of Turkmen society and also principles and norms of the Convention of the United Nations ratified by Turkmenistan on the rights of children, leader of the nation of Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov attaches priority significance for creation of favourable living conditions for children from the moment of birth to their introduction into adult life. When children are healthy, educated and protected, they are fully capable to realise spiritual, physical and mental potential to grow responsible citizens. In the given context our country actively co-operates with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Besides, in Turkmenistan the « Law on the state guarantees of the rights of the child» which positions reflect deepening of social and democratic processes in the country according to requirements of the international legal standards, was passed. The law provides the state guarantees for healthy life, appropriate education, protection from labour exploitation. At the meeting issues of further cooperation in the sphere of realisation of international obligations in the field of human rights were also discussed.
