Today, upon the completion of the working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan and on arrival in Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council at the International Airport of the capital. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, members of the State Security Council, heads of some ministries and departments, hakims of the city of Ashgabat and Ahal velayat. The agenda of the meeting included the results of a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, preparation for the forthcoming visit to Turkmenistan of the UN Secretary General, as well as tasks related to the development of the national economy in the near future. In particular, the Head of State discussed the high-level meetings held in Astana on the implementation of bilateral agreements and transnational projects aimed at creating a Eurasian economic, transport and communication and humanitarian space. It was noted that participation of our country in the international specialized exhibition ""Astana Expo-2017"" provided another opportunity to demonstrate the economic achievements of our country to the world community, and at the same time to get acquainted with the world's best practices in various fields and expand the geography of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners. Turning to the question of preparing for the visit to Turkmenistan of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the President of the country gave the floor to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov. The Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister noted that thanks to the ""open doors"" policy under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, fruitful ties are developing with various states of the world and authoritative international organizations, including the United Nations. This is eloquently evidenced by the dynamic nature of the dialogue with the UN, which has received a new content in recent years. Within the framework of the visit of the UN Secretary General to Turkmenistan, top-level talks and the signing of a package of documents aimed at further activating the partnership are scheduled. Appreciating the fruitful nature of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the leading UN agencies, the Head of State noted that the forthcoming meeting with the UN head will help strengthen and expand traditional cooperation and practical realization of its solid potential. Then, the President of Turkmenistan heard reports on the country's social and economic development, the implementation of sectoral development programs: in the oil and gas sector, in the industrial sector, in the textile and chemical industries, in fisheries, in the agro-industrial complex. Discussions were also carried about strengthening the legislative base, upgrading the material and technical base of the military and law enforcement agencies, preparing for the Asian Games-2017 and improving the Turkmen capital. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, focusing on preparation for the Asian Games-2017, ordered to ensure the high quality of the services provided to athletes and guests of the capital, including transport, and to develop an interesting program of cultural events. The Head of State also gave instructions for the conduct of the harvest campaign - harvesting of the grain without losses, its proper storage and processing.
