The Magtymguly Turkmen State University hosted a solemn presentation of a new book, “Arkadag’s Glorious Epoch”. The publication dedicated to the 60th birthday of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is a journalistic narrative covering the milestone events and important facts of the country’s life, its 10-year long journey under the guidance of the national leader. The presentation was preceded by the presentation organized in the university foyer and displaying art works, items of decorative and applied arts and printed goods. The conference hall hosted a meeting attended by the members of the Government; the speaker and members of the National Parliament; heads and representatives of military and law enforcement authorities, diplomatic missions and representatives accredited to our country; rectors, professors and lecturers of universities; political scientists; respected elders, young people and mass media. The speakers stressed that the outstanding, defining feature of the modern Turkmen society is the unshakable unity, the nation’s consolidation around the national leader that rests upon the conscious, common understanding of the ideas of independence and neutrality, of the spiritual traditions and cultural heritage. All this is described in the new book that covers the historical period of 2007–2017. The book begins with a biographical section that tells about the childhood and adolescence years of the head of state; the beginning of his career; professional development and further activity in the world of science and on leadership positions. The following chapters are devoted to the presidency of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. They vividly display the key points of his policy: peace, stability and development, as well as its main principles: humanism, social justice, high morals and drive for concrete results. The publication provides a popular presentation of the processes of comprehensive modernization of the state and society; strategic objectives of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy course; top priorities and steps taken towards practical implementation of important international initiatives by the national leader. The book “Arkadag’s Glorious Epoch” is lavishly illustrated with photographs including official chronicles. The publication is intended for a wider audience. It will be a reliable guide for political scientists, economic researchers, social studies teachers and students.
